We are thrilled that these two ladies are returning for their second year at Tinsel and Treasures. The beauty and whimsy of their work is not to be missed.
Sue Bartolucci of Tinsell and Whimsy
Susan lives on her family vineyard in
Napa Valley, where she has a small studio near her home. For inspiration,
she has a view of grapevines and rolling hills surrounding her. She has
had many re-inventions of herself, that have all contributed to her current
artistic endeavors. She has been a
teacher, partner in a children's theatre company, event decorator, and an
artistic consultant at her family winery, in which capacity she still
serves.
'
Having first created art as a water colorist, but desiring a more
three-dimensional feel for her work, she became a figurative sculpture folk
artist. In addition to sculpture, however, she also creates
ornamentation/wearable art, collage, assemblage, and torched tin.
Her work is one-of-a-kind, and always
with a pun...
....so, please read the titles, and ask for the stories.
She likes to say that you can see her fingerprints on everything she makes, even
literally sometimes. For her, the journey of creating art is often more a
focus, and source of satisfaction than the art that results. She has her own distinctive style, which
often defies conventional descriptions.
She is always on a new artistic journey somewhere without a preconceived
plan. She creates works for all seasons, but the art of Halloween is her
passion, and she does that year round You can read more about Susan on her
blog www.TinsellAndWhimsy.Blogspot.com ,
or email her at [email protected]. You can catch her working in her studio
from about 10pm until 3am.
Anna Corba
Anna has been a working artist for twenty five years. She began as a painter and moved into collage when her collections refused to lay tame amongst the shelves of her studio.
She created a vintage themed product line ten years ago which has sold to specialty shops across the country and she has recently added teaching to her repertoire. Her workshops are given in her own Sonoma County studio as well as at nationwide venues including Where Women Create, Art and Soul and Silver Bella.
Anna's work has been featured in Country Living, Romantic Homes, Victoria and Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazines. She is also the author of two books describing various collage methods and projects with a vintage feel.
