We are so excited to tell you that we have a number of new artists joining the show this year. Some of them come from outside of the Northern California area so this is a great opportunity to experience their art in your own back yard. You won't want to miss it.Here are just two of them...
Lori Gutierrez
From the time she was a little girl, she knew she was going to be an artist. She spent as much time as she could drawing and painting, expressing herself through art. In her early teens, she began her formal education, taking drawing and painting classes from several instructors, learning all different styles, from realism to the masters. She further developed her skills through high school and in to college, venturing into many different crafts, media, genres.
After college, she worked painting murals in both residential and commercial settings. She worked for a sign company, initially doing sign art, eventually learning the fine art of lettering in all different styles.
Today, she paints with oil and acrylics on canvas, wood, metal, any material - if it sits still long enough, she will paint something on it! She also sculpts, and creates artwork with soldering. She also really enjoys making things look time-worn and vintage.
She loves to create - it's her passion and her life! Judy Mackey
Judy resides in Fullerton, CA. She and her husband have raised three girls and have loved every minute of it. The girls are now in their 20s, so they now have more time to pursue many of their own interests. Having grown up by the sea, Judy has a deep love for the salt air, the treasures on the sand, the crashing waves and the incredible sunsets. For Judy, the most wonderful aspect of the ocean is the majestic sense of a creator and all the gifts He gives to those who journey across the sand. Combining her love of the sea with her need to create, Judy has found an art form from which she is very passionate. She loves to create shell art.
Over the past five years, she has researched shell art throughout history and in particular the 17th and 18th centuries. Women with the same aesthetic were creating amazing shell art and no idea was too big or too difficult. Judy's goal is to think outside of the box and flavor her work with all that she loves, such as magical, whimsical, beautiful, natural, vintage, spiritual, authentic and sentimental qualities. Judy is very excited to be a part of Tinsel and Treasures and is looking forward to meeting new people!
